Welcome back to the Joy + Tell series! After a break, I’m very (very!!) excited to start writing these posts again. What started out as weekly Instagram stories, then weekly blog posts has now moved into monthly blog posts because that is what just feels right for now.
So, without further ado, here is Joy + Tell for March 2025!
#1: Escape to the Chateau
I recently finished up the ninth and final season of the Escape to the Chateau series where you follow along a British couple named Dick and Angel as they buy and renovate a chateau in France. It’s delightful, lighthearted and just an overall great watch (if you are in the USA-it’s on Peacock). Beware though, this show is going to make you want to back a bag and head to the French countryside!
#2: The Residence on Netflix
Also watched The Residence on Netflix in the span of three days, and it was so darn good. Shonda Rhimes has done it once again in this mystery set in the White House. For those history buffs out there, it is filled with fun history facts and gives a cool look inside America’s house. Plus, it’s a great who-did-it mystery!
#3: Rupi Kaur
Inspired by my post celebrating World Poetry Day, I went to a some local bookshops to pick up a couple of Rupi Kaur’s books: the sun and her flowers and Milk and Honey. I love how Rupi has been one of the leaders in really bringing poetry to the mainstream for my generation. My favorite poem of hers is still this one below that I mentioned in the post.
#4: Stardust
Speaking of poetry, in doing my research for the World Poetry Day post, I stumbled upon this poem by Nikita Gill. It may just have taken the top spot for my all-time favorite poem.
#5: “You Don’t Own Me”
Bette Midler, Diane Keaton and Goldie Hawn-yes, please! This dynamic trio combine to give us a perfect anthem to end this Women’s History Month.
