Over the past few years, I have truly loved getting to see my Wrapped Playlist for the year by Spotify.
As I have embarked on seeking out the joy in life more, I have come to see that my end-of-the-year playlist often is a collection of all the songs that ignite my own inner joy within!
Here are some of my top 10 joy songs for the year 2022—see if any resonate with you in the New Year!
#1: “Budding Trees” by Nahko And Medicine For The People
No surprise that my first—and top joy song from 2022— was “Budding Trees”! Ever since first hearing it in the documentary, Heal, it has continually resonated with me!
“In the moon of the budding trees/ I was gifted new eyes to see/ All of the shifting shape and ways you can be.” -Nahko And Medicine For The People, “Budding Trees”

#2: “2 Oceans” by Trevor Hall
When I discovered this song, I felt like I was between worlds in a sense. Living in my past while simultaneously living in my joyful future. It’s a strange place to be, filled with some pain while you move through it, but it truly is the time to keep opening yourself up to the joy! This song really encapsulates this feeling of being between “2 Oceans” in this life!
On the inside you’re the moonlight/On the outside gotta hold tight/ Let the storm pass, yeah/ Then you’ll walk on water” -Trevor Hall, “2 Oceans”

#3: “Cover Me in Sunshine” by P!nk and Willow Sage Hart
Another song from my 10 joy songs post! I love this one—it reminds me of the joy of feeling the sun shine upon you on a warm day!
“From a distance all these mountains/ Are just some tiny hills/ Wildflowers, they keep living/ While they’re just standing still/ I’ve been missing yesterday/ But what if there’s a better place?” -P!nk and Willow Sage Hart, “Cover Me In Sunshine”

#4: “Spring is Coming” by Austin Farwell
An instrumental piece, this song is filled with peace, alignment and joy for me! After first hearing it on a reel of someone making their nighttime bath, it has become my bath time relaxation song! It’s truly a beautiful song!

#5: “Oh, What A World” by Kacey Musgraves
This was my favorite song I discovered for 2022! It reminds you of all the magic of life, and how truly beautiful our world really is! I even listened to it for almost SIX consecutive hours on a plane ride this year!
“These are real things/Oh, what a world, all kinds of magic/Tell me it’s not too good to be true” -Kacey Musgraves, “Oh, What A World”

#6: “Wintergreen” by The East Pointers
Love love love this song! I think it will be listened to even more in the New Year— it’s fun, folksy, indie, and just great!
“Wintergreen can’t outshine your radiance/ Wintergreen or undermine your salience/ Wintergreen I love you more than anything” -The East Pointers, “Wintergreen”

#7: “Rescue” by Lauren Daigle
A faith-based song, this song has come to really resonate with me when I’m feeling some pain in this journey of joy called life. Pain and joy can both be felt, as I have talked about in one of my earliest posts, but this song really reminds me that there is a higher power at work even when it doesn’t always feel that way.
“There is no distance/That cannot be covered/ Over and over/ You’re not defenseless/ I’ll be your shelter/ I’ll be your armor” -Lauren Daigle, “Rescue”

#8: “Missing Piece” by Vance Joy
For years and years, Vance Joy has always been a favorite of mine—and “Missing Piece” is no exception!
While I think it’s a song more about two people in love, for me—I love the idea of picturing your inner child listening to it. Because when you are in alignment with your inner child within, there’s no stopping the joy and wholeness you can feel—that “Missing Piece” does feel found!
“Because when I’m in a room with you/ That missing piece is found/ You know when you’re by my side, darling/ Nothing can bring us down” -Vance Joy, “Missing Piece”

#9: “Adventure of Me” by Rob Riccardo
This was another top favorite of my top songs for 2022! It’s adventure filled (hence the title!) and just really reminds me of the adventure of life and of being yourself! Stay tuned because I have a feeling this song will make another appearance here soon!
“I’m not going to lie, some days I miss the tide/ And the scent of a salt water breeze comin’ over me/ But I have no doubt, where I am right now/ Is right where I’m supposed to be” -Rob Riccardo, “Adventure of Me”

#10: “All My Life” by WILD
What an awesome song to round out my top 10 joy songs for 2022!
This is another song, like “Missing Piece”, that I love to picture my inner child when listening to it (it has some great affirmations for your inner child)! It’s a great song to remind you and your inner child you are whole and joyful all on your own!
