These songs make me picture myself on the East coast, with a sparkling water, wearing linen and a sunhat while I’m hosting a dinner party.
Maybe I’m just getting a vision of me in the future, but—either way— these songs just feel so classy and summertime.
Hope you enjoy!

#1: “Sailing By” by Ronald Binge, Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, Ernest Tomlinson
This song makes me think of a dear friend who absolutely adores sailing. And who can blame her? There’s nothing like sitting on a bench watching the sailboats go by… it’s so quintessentially summertime. This song reminds me of that feeling!
#2: “Summertime” by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong
Summer in France is how I would describe this song’s vibe. It feels uber classy and elegant, and I can just picture listening to it at a summer dinner party eating al fresco amongst the smell of roses.
#3: “On the Banks of the Green Willow” by George Butterworth, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Grant Llewellyn
I always think of my dad when I hear this song. It was one of his favorites to listen to in the morning during spring and summer mornings. And I fully agree. This song transports me to the British countryside where I am staring out at the green hues of fields that only summertime can bring.
#4: “It’s So Peaceful In The Country” by Mildred Bailey
Nothing says summer quite like driving around country rides with the windows rolled down and some of your favorite tunes playing. This song captures that feeling. Bonus—see if your city is listed in the song!
#5: Ancient Airs & Dances, Suite III, P.172:III.Siciliana (Anonymous)
Don’t let the long title scare you, this is perhaps one of my all-time favorite classical pieces. In all honesty, I first heard it when I was a little girl watching a Barbie movie, but it has stuck with me all these years later as just being the epitome of beautiful. I love the vibe it gives, I love the story it tells, and it just feels like late summer to me.
Any other classy songs you would add to the list?
