Hi everyone,
Remember when I took a break in August 2023? I thought I’d be back in a month or two, tops. Well, here I am, over a year later!
This past year has been a journey of faith and courage– and it all started with listening to my intuition and prioritizing rest. What’s emerged from that is a whole new look and direction for The Joyfilled Seeker!
Flashback: Burnout and Recharging
In July 2023, I was traveling nomadically for The Joyfilled Seeker, and it was incredible. However, it came at a large cost for me.
I was burnt out – mentally, physically, and emotionally. I felt completely drained across the board, and I knew something needed to change.
After publishing my post about the need to reset, I closed my laptop and finally took a breath for the first time in a long time. I knew I needed to step back from this space.
This little corner of the internet was created to find light after darkness, and it brought me immense joy. But with burnout, I felt lost about its direction– and felt myself asking myself “what do I want The Joyfilled Seeker to be?”.
Unexpected Changes: A New Chapter
Never did I imagine when I published that post about resetting that it would be over a YEAR until I came back. There were many, many, MANY false starts over the past year, but I kept really listening to what my intuition was saying. And it just kept giving the feeling that it wasn’t time yet.
As that year that unfolded, I refocused on joy, a deep desire to rebrand and redesign the website emerged. Deep down, I knew The Joyfilled Seeker was evolving, and this space needed to reflect that.
I ended up connecting with Krista of Davey and Krista website and branding. After doing the research and talking with Krista, they felt like the perfect fit to bring my design dreams to life.
On a personal note, this past year wasn’t easy. It rivaled 2020 for its emotional intensity – filled with tears, anger, fear, grief and doubt. Yet, amidst the chaos, there was an unshakable peace within me, a constant anchor that kept me growing. It made my faith be tested, but it ultimately left me feeling my faith come back stronger than ever.
Introducing the New Joyfilled Seeker!
Let me be the first to say, welcome to the new Joyfilled Seeker! It’s been a journey with twists and turns, but we’re finally here.
Here’s a breakdown of some of the intention behind this new space.
Inspiration: A Summer Sunset
The new design’s inspiration? A peaceful summer sunset. I wanted it to feel free, light, and joyful.
Soft peaches, pinks and blues capture the essence of watching the sun dip below the ocean (my favorite pastime!). A touch of green grounds the space and satisfies my plant-loving side. And soft neutrals really bring it all together to feel grounded, warm and filled with joy.
A Fresh Look:
I love love love LOVE the new logos! My original design served its purpose, but it was definitely time for a professional upgrade. The Davey and Krista team delivered! They even gave our beloved hot air balloon a delightful refresh.
Blog post titles have also been updated for clarity and inspiration, so feel free to explore and see the refreshed content!
Moving Forward: The Next Chapter
This space remains a haven for those seeking joy, whether you’re soaring high or feeling low. You’ll continue to find joy-focused content in three areas: lifestyle tips (finding joy in everyday moments), travel insights (learning from joyful destinations), and interviews (exploring diverse perspectives on joy).
The core mission remains, but the approach will subtly (or maybe obviously) shift towards a more well-being-focused perspective.
While joy is central to this space, I’ve realized it can be limiting. Appreciation, nature, and slowness are all paths to joy,and they deserve exploration beyond the word itself. So, The Joyfilled Seeker, moving forward, will not be entirely about JOY per se, but rather about increasing our well-beings. This means posts might not have the word “JOY” in them, but they all certainly connect back to this site’s theme of seeking out the joy in life if that makes sense? I am really excited to see where this slight change in direction goes.
A Heartfelt Thank You
Thank you for your patience, your support, and for being on this journey with me. I have exciting plans for The Joyfilled Seeker, and I can’t wait to share them with you. Keep checking out this space for new posts and content weekly!
It really is nice to be back.
Welcome back, Claire! TJS 2.0 is wonderful, inspiring, helpful, joyfilled!! Thank you.
